2008 Baileywick Yacht Schedule [revised 08/21/2008]

Boat/Weather Conditions: A live internet video camera view of the Baileywick floating dock on Leasons Cove near Solomons shows the status of the fleet. Note the flag at the end of the dock for wind conditions in the protected cove. The video camera requires use of Internet Explorer and its OCX plugin to view. The plugin will initially download if needed by answering yes at the link. The video feed is on 24 hrs daily so at night only the dock lights show. Don’t hog the camera too long as only a few viewers can use it at the same time. Additionally, this link NOAA Wind Forecast Chesapeake Bay  shows dynamic estimated wind projections for Chesapeake Bay. Baileywick Update [08/21/2008]:   

• As charcoal and lighter fluid is no longer used for Segel's grill, a good supply is available for customers to take home for their personal use. It is in the small shed.
• A link has been placed in the header above [by my photograph] to the story of my July 16, 2008, prostate operation. All males over 50 years old should be aware of this health threat and to catch it early so they can sail happily for many years to come! I don't mind sharing my experience with others by phone or email.
• Sailnet.com who has been hosting the Niagara 35 list server where owners had exchanged information by email has moved such discussions to their well established forums. For Niagara 35 go to http://www.sailnet.com/forums/niagara/. However, the Niagara 35 owners have now also set up a Yahoo discussion group at http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/niagara35sailboatowners. This group was set up at Yahoo on August 13, 2008. It is expected that only one venue will continue active after a few months of experience with each. The Yahoo programming allows email exchange and does not force visiting the website for messages. Is not progress confusing? 

Scheduling During the Season: This schedule can change daily. Schedule changes can be done by email, telephone, or snail mail. I always acknowledge receipt of email schedule requests. If I do not reply by the next day, call my cellphone at 410.474.8723. Several year's of prior use schedules are available from the link bar. This enables customers to have a record of past use and prospects to see the historical pattern of use.

2008 Season Scheduling Process:  A review of how the process works. The Baileywick timeshare and charter season begins April 1 each year. The advance scheduling process for the season starts around February 10 with email reminders to current customers and prospects [if I have their email address] to prepare their priority listed use periods [with any alternates for each] for receipt by Baileywick no later than March 1. The resulting schedule is posted no later than March 2. The resulting schedule changes often as customers revise their plans for the season. You do not have to schedule any or all your days before the season starts, but you do risk missing a fair chance at special weekends or holidays you might want. For complete details read the Agreement in Section 6. Especially note the Section 6.3.b feature that allows conversion of unused weekdays to weekend days. The scheduling turn order is done by putting the requests in chronological order of first use and cycling through them for each requested schedule period that has no conflict. Charter requests can be scheduled also if not conflicting with a timesharers' request. My experience has been that most timesharers get at least their first and second priority choices.
